UPDATE for Bodmin & Wenford Railway day

04 March 2011:

The shoot went very well and the group got some great images in decent weather.  We'll be talking to the Railway soon to see if we can arrange an opportunity to broaden the range of shots showing the volunteers enjoying their time there.  Our bag so far shows them hard at work but does not yet really do the volunteering aspect a great deal of justice.

UPDATE for Bodmin & Wenford Railway day

Message from Lynn, 18 Feb 2011:

After speaking with John Burden and Jimmy James (organiser of the Trackbash) I have arranged for us to have access to the lines form 10am until 1pm on Saturday the 26th. This includes their tea and lunch breaks. There should be between 15-20 volunteers replacing lengths of track to photograph plus the carriage, possibly crane, but it's all about the people of course.

Access is via the Walker Lines Industrial Estate (entrance by the A30 turnoff) and hard standing parking next to Fitzgerald Lighting premises.

If you have High Visibilty jackets please bring them, but otherwise just wear suitable weatherproof clothing and footwear. We are to bring our own food/drink.

John may be joining us and is looking forward to seeing our efforts.

Details from the Newsletter of 3rd Feb 2011

Our friend, John Burden, has recently been in contact with Lynn with some news which we hope will be of interest to the club. An exhibition is being planned for August this year for all the various organisations in the Bodmin area who use the support of volunteers. We have been aware of how the Bodmin and Wenford railway exists mainly due to such individuals who give their unpaid time, from our previous work. As a result we have been asked if we would like to take some more images which could depict this aspect, in a creative way, for the exhibition.

An opportunity, on the last weekend of February has been suggested, where workers do line maintenance whilst the trains are not running - something not seen by the general public. So, could we ask that anyone who is interested in this project please contact Lynn asap - perhaps Saturday 26th Feb would be the day which would suit most people, with us spending about threee hours with them from 10:00am, all subject to final conformation.

More details will be displayed here as soon as they are available.
